Parent Teacher Association (PTA) an Introduction
We are very fortunate at Ben Rhydding Primary School to have a really active PTA that is and has been such an integral part of the school community for many years. In its time the PTA has raised thousands of pounds, which have been spent on improving equipment, buildings, resources, supporting class visits, all to enhance our children’s education.
But our PTA is about much, much more than just fundraising. The PTA exists to provide closer links between home and school, and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. It is fun too – just ask any of the PTA committee members or helpers.
Our PTA committee currently consists of parents, a chair person, a secretary and a treasurer. Meetings are on a regular basis and also with smaller groups meeting as necessary to organise larger events.
Our Chair and Secretary will be stepping down at the end of July, so please get in touch if you have an interest in joining us.
Summer and Christmas Fairs, Bake Sales, Quiz & Bingo Nights, Children’s Discos.
How You Can Get Involved
Offering to help before events is so valuable; it really is a case of ‘many hands make light work’. It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular bases, or even if you can’t come into school, there are always little jobs that can be done from home e.g. wrapping gifts, preparing raffle tickets etc. We really couldn’t achieve what we do without the unseen ‘army of help’ that exists in school.
Please come and join us to help and support the School.
To all involved in the Year 3 Bake Sale and to everyone who bought cakes. The sale made an impressive £134 and the PTA will add £100 to this to be spent by the teacher directly on something for the class.

The PTA have recently donated £11k to the school for IT equipment and have also bought a new set of running vests.
Without your support, purchase of these essential resources would not possible – thank you.
However, we now have very little money left!! The school is currently in urgent need of projectors. Please continue to support our events and other methods of fundraising, such as:
· Company Match Funding Opportunities – speak to Claire Macina if you think this is something your workplace could support us with.
· Kirsty Smith is pulling together a spreadsheet of funding opportunities for school. Please let her know if you are aware of any resources we could be applying for.
