Uniform

We have a school uniform which is clearly outlined. We ask for your co-operation to maintain this standard for our school uniform. No fancy fashion garments please.

Wharfedale Uniforms supply school uniform and also embroid school uniform.  You can bring your uniform to the school office to be emroided and Wharfedale Uniform will collect it.  You can order school uniform/ embroidery by clicking here.

The office staff and teachers do not have time to look for school uniform that is missing and not named.  Can you please ensure that you name all of your childs uniform.  If you would like a little tip on how to name your childs uniform quickly, please click here.

The following list is to remind all parents and children of the acceptable dress code at Ben Rhydding Primary School.

Footwear

Sensible school shoes (not boots) should be worn. Children should have a pair of indoor shoes (slip on pumps are ideal) available to wear if their shoes become dirty. Please avoid shoes that your child cannot manage easily. Fancy designer trainers/trainer boots are discouraged. If your child comes to school in wellingtons in bad weather, could you please ensure that they are named to keep them together.  Children are expected to change out of their wellingtons and back in to their school shoes, during classroom time.

Please could you check the condition of your child’s pumps to make sure they still fit and that the soles are intact with adequate grip.

Jewellery/ hair

In the interests of health and safety, the wearing of jewellery in school is NOT ALLOWED. If children have pierced ears, then only small stud type earrings are acceptable. These should be removed for PE; if your child can not remove their own earrings, please make sure they do not wear them on PE days.

Long hair should be tied back with suitable hair accessories. This is essential for PE and recommended throughout the school day.

This policy is followed to minimise the risk of injury.

At Ben Rhydding Primary School we believe it is important for children to change into a PE kit. Please ensure you child has a PE kit in school for each PE Lesson and that it is named.

For further information please see our school uniform policy.
